Jacob Dobes – St Louis AAA Blues – Montreal Canadiens

Jacob Dobes came to the United States and spent his first 2 seasons with the St Louis AAA Blues u18 in 2017-18 and 2018-19 under the guidance of Bruce Racine and the RGA team.
Jacob arrived from Czech and immediately got to work on his technical game. Building good habits and adding a solid technical base to an athletic Dobes were the main areas for coach Bruce to focus on.
Attended De Smet Jesuit High School in St Louis.

In Junior he played for the Omaha Lancers in 2020-21, earning Second Team All-USHL accolades; posted 2.48 goals-against average and .908 save percentage, with a 26-16-3 recordSpent 2019-20 with Topeka in the NAHL (10 games played, 1.59 gaa, .946 sv%) and Omaha (21 gp, 3.09 gaa, .891 sv%)
After a strong Junior Career Dobes committed to The Ohio State University. As a freshman Jacob earned Big Ten Goaltender of the Year and was nominated for the Mike Richter Award presented to the best goalie in the NCAA

He was the fifth-round pick (No. 136) in the 2020 NHL Draft to the Montreal Canadiens!
Dobes signed a two-year contract with Montreal on July 6, 2025.
