Woll as a AAA Blues

Since his first lesson, Joseph focused on doing his best to strengthen the technical aspect of his game. His desire to learn the position and all the intricate details made him stand out at an early age. Joseph would plead with his parents that he had to get to RGA Lesson ice weekly. He simply did not miss training opportunities and the chance at developing his style. Woll modeled his style after Carey Price the long time Montreal Canadiens Great.

Early on, as he began to advance and was more challenged, he worked hard on his mental game with Coach Racine. Wanting to perfect Focus and Concentration as well as Mental Toughness for a sometimes grueling position. He was also a RGA instructor during summer camps when he was 16. Joseph played his youth hockey for the with the St. Louis AAA Blues organization for six years.

Joseph then took all he’s learned from his experiences with RGA to Ann Arbor to play with the USA National Team Development Program (NTDP). Woll represented Team USA in the prestigious World Junior Hockey Tournament! He played in the 2017 World Junior Championships for Team USA. He appeared in two games, posting a 1.50 (GAA) and .932% and Won a Gold medal with the team. In 2018 He started five games on the way to winning the bronze medal that year

After his two years in Michigan with the National Team, Joseph moved onto the NCAA D1 Hockey East program at Boston College where he graduated after his junior year. Joseph Woll’s accomplishments at Boston College include Being named Most Valuable Player, A Hockey East All Star and BC Most Improved Player in 2019.

Personal Note from Joseph

For the past years I have worked with Coach Racine, he has taught me everything a goalie needs to know about finding and persisting in a passion for hockey, as well as the technical and mental aspects of the position. Not only has he taught me about the sport, but Coach Racine has given me advice on life, making him a man I look up to. With all he’s taught me and all I’ve learned, he still has numerous things to teach me and I will never stop being a student of his. The Racine Goalie Academy will always hold a place in my life.
